Review of The Oxford History of Australian Literature ed. by Leonie Kramer, and The Stockyard and the Croquet Lawn by G.A. Wilkes
Abstract
Two nags from the same stable. They haven't much else to hold them in close harness, but it is enough to start a few general reflections. Circumstance dictates that both can be noticed here only rather late in their story. Both have been reviewed elsewhere and most people have probably made up their mind about them. There is no need to anatomatize them as though they were still new, but there can be some point in examining their impact.
